The seven Shrock sisters grew up on a 160-acre family farm midway between (and a half hour from) Dover and Delaware’s Atlantic beaches in the Mennonite community of Greenwood. In 1992 they converted the family farmhouse into Eli’s, an eight-bedroom B&B, and began farming 70 acres, planting hay meadows and corn and soybean fields. Although you’re just 8 miles from the wealthy town of Milford, you can “hear the quiet” from the house’s large wrap-around front porch, while strolling the nature paths that surround the property, or while watching the sunsets from the garden.
The sisters can provide a country dinner (by reservation) in the informal dining room. Ask about a hot-air balloon flight after breakfast with a launch from the front lawn.
