The Tower room on the second floor is a favorite, with a turret niche and lots of rosy stained glass. The third floor’s two suites are a bit more modern in character but still whimsically wonderful. All four doubles have their own bathrooms, but guests occupying the second-floor rooms must walk through a common area to enter theirs, and the third-floor facilities have showers only.
Rhonda fortifies her guests for a day of exploring or antiquing with a full breakfast—often ricotta pancakes, served with fresh fruit or raspberry purée and ham. The inn is across the street from one of Delaware’s premier eating establishments, the Banking House, which is also an 18th-century-inspired bed-and-breakfast. Dinner at the Banking House and a stay at the Towers is a perfect combination.
4 double rooms with baths. Air-conditioning, gas-log fireplaces in music room and dining room, pool. $95— $125; full breakfast. MasterCard, Visa. No smoking, no pets.
