Building additions seems to be something of a tradition with the owners of Wades Point. There’s a four-room summer cottage, and in 1989 Betsy and John completed a 12-room guest house about 200 yards from the main inn. These modern rooms have water views, private porches, and balconies, and the two queen-size beds and kitchenette in three of the rooms make them a good choice for families. If you’re looking for bona fide old Chesapeake Bay atmosphere, however, opt for a room in the main house.
15 double rooms with baths, 9 doubles share 5 baths. Air-conditioning in new guest house, TV and fireplaces in common rooms, pond, private crabbing and fishing dock, walking and jogging trail, public boat ramp nearby. $80—$195; Continental breakfast. MasterCard, Visa. Smoking on porches only, no pets, 2-day minimum on weekends, closed Jan.—Feb. |
