The first bed-and-breakfast established in Flemington, this completely restored, turn-of-the-century Queen Anne Victonan, set on a tree-lined street in the his-toric district, is painted in shades of gray with burgundy trim. The inn blends Victorian architecture with country hospitality and creature comforts and is outfitted not with Victorian furnishings but with cozier upholstered pieces, wicker, brass, oak, and mahogany. Visitors can savor complimentary sherry in the living room, beverages and a full cookie jar in the guest pantry, and chocolates, a small basket of fruit, and sparkling water in the bedrooms. Bay windows make several of the rooms especially appealing. Taller guests may appreciate a king-size bed in one room.
Balloon trips can be arranged, and those interested in a back-road driving tour of the countryside and area wineries can request directions and a picnic lunch, complete with Jerica Hill wineglasses.
