Cheap Bed and Breakfast in New Jersey: The John F Craig House, Cape May

Warm hosts and cool breezes are in store at this 1866 Carpenter Gothic inn. The focus is on “the positive aspects and beauty of the Victorian era,” explain owners Connie and Frank Felicetti. “We don’t want stuffy.” And stuffy it is not.
There are plenty ofplaces to curlup with a good book and plenty of books from which to choose. The library’s collection ranges from heirloom to modern, and guests delight in antique volumes of Victorian poetry. You can relax in the parlor, warmed by a gas fireplace in winter and naturally cooled by floor-to-ceiling windows on late afternoons in summer, just as it was 100 years ago. Or follow the morning or afternoon sun to one of the porches enveloping the inn, where cats Heckle and Jeckle might be lolling on a leash.
