From the foot of Main Street in the charming 19th-century village of Cold Spring, this 1832 inn (the second oldest inn in continuous operation in the state) takes in spectacular views of the Hudson River, West Point, and Storm King Mountain. Visitors here should request a room facing the river.
The entire inn, from the wood-paneled bar and sitting area downstairs to the 15 guest rooms, was renovated in 1981. Many rooms are furnished with old-fashioned painted-ironbeds (quite afew have twin beds), and all feature country decor and accessories. River-view rooms on the second floor open onto a wraparound porch. One of the two suites, with twin beds in one room and a double in the other, has just one bathroom and is best suited for a family. |
