Cheap Bed and Breakfast in New York: The Chester Inn, Chestertown

The Chester Inn bed-and-breakfast sits right on Chestertown’s Main Street, but there are 13 acres of meadows out back. Originally the home of Charles Fowler, a wealthy merchant, the Greek Revival mansion has been occupied by only three families since it was built in 1837.
A love of history and fond memories of European B&B stays persuaded Bruce and Suzanne Robbins to open an inn. Bruce, who had worked in construction, and Sue, who was in retail sales, carefully researched the house’s past and attended to every detail in its restoration (they even had an original shade of paint reproduced by computer).
