You won’t have to look hard to find this fully restored 1906 Victorian inn, which stands high on a hill overlooking Mirror Lake. The Interlaken is three stories high, and its clapboard exterior is painted colonial blue with cream trim. At night, tiny white lights outline the screened-in porch and roofline.
The large entryway is decorated with dried flowers, stuffed teddy bears, and an antique stroller filled with dolls. Also on the spacious first floor is a parlor room, breakfast porch, and dining room, which is popular with locals as well as guests. On weekends, a five-course dinner is included with the price of your room. Discovermay start with lobster crepes and asparagus soup, followed by Caesar salad and sorbet, and that’s only the halfway point—a breast of duck au poivre may be next, and to end, mocha tiramisu.
