During the day, sunlight pours through the windows of this late-l9th-century town house facing Albany’s Washington Park. Dark mahogany architectural accents complement the hand-glazed walls of the interior, where high ceilings, fireplaces, and interesting antiques make you feel as if you’re sitting in the pages of Architectural Digest. Don’t worry though; this place isn’t stiff. The charms of innkeeper Charles Kuhtic are apparent throughout the house, from the abundance offresh flowers to the classicalmusic that plays quietlyin the sitting room.
The light and airy bedrooms are deco-rated in shades ofwhite and cream, complemented by dark-wood moldings. Tall palms further add to the sense that you have been carried back to French In-dochina. All the rooms are large and have sitting areas with either overstuffed chairs or small sofas, and the beds, which have down comforters and luxurious cot-ton sheets, are downright decadent.
