Cheap Bed and Breakfast in Pennsylvania: 1740 House, Lumberville

Travel 6½ miles north from New Hope on Route 32, one of the most scenic roads in Pennsylvania, and you will come to the 1740 House, an inn that takes full ad-vantage of its picturesque location. The original 1740 two-story clapboard farm-house, and its more recent attached ad-ditions, sit just off River Road and just a few feet from the Delaware Canal and the Delaware River. The guest rooms are decorated in beige and Wedgwood blue, many with wicker furniture and exposed beams. All have a balcony or terrace with an impressive view of the river. The suite has large windows on three sides and a four-poster bed. You’ll have breakfast in the candlelit dining room, lined with plants and paintings and overlooking the river.
