The bedrooms on the second and third floors have elegant views. The rooms are decorated with floral prints and brass-and-iron beds. Peter and Veronika have brought with them from Switzerland furniture, antiques, and traditions, including breakfast grittibaenz (little men made of bread with raisin eyes).
The separate cottage is cozy, and in winter months there’s always a crackling fire. The three bedrooms here are decorated with American folk art, both antique and reproduction. Each room has sloping eaves, hooked rugs, and antique pine furniture. Though the rooms are small, the cottage is perfect for families.
You should expect to hear noises in this rural setting—the noises of a working farm: the baaing of sheep, the buzzing of bees (which manufacture 300 pounds of honey annually), and the occasional rumble of a tractor. But that means you can count on the abundant breakfasts (which include eggs, bread, jams, and honey) to be farm fresh.
