Private terraces, balconies that overlook a pond and rolling farmland, and gas fire-places make the Carriage House rooms most appealing. They are at the back of the property and away from traffic noise. With cathedralceilings and old barn tim-bers for beams and mantels, two suites in the Carriage House are the most architecturally interesting.
Canoeing, hiking, antiquing, and mu-seum-browsing are only some of the area’s pastimes. Why not attend a polo match during one of the warmer months?
13 double rooms with baths, 2 suites. Air-conditioning, cable TV and phones in bedrooms. $140—$195; Continental breakfast, afternoon tea. American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa. No smoking, no pets.
The four rooms in the Spring House are somewhat larger, and all have working gas fireplaces. Siding from the old barn has been used for mantels and paneling, and some of the sinks have copper drain boards. |
