Cheap Bed and Breakfast in Pennsylvania: Lenape Springs Farm, West Chester

You’ll need directions to get to this outof-the-way location in the Brandywine River Valley, but that’s what makes it so wonderful. Though only 4 miles north of Chadds Ford, Sharon and Bob Currie’s 32-acre farm is down a dead-end country road that runs along a secluded section of the Brandywine River, and is, as Bob says, “nicely isolated.”
The three-story stone, Federal-style farmhouse was built in 1847 and is surrounded by hills, fields, arbors, gazebos, cows, and deer. The Curries bought the property in 1977 and spent 12 years renovating before opening their B&B.
Every view is a good one. From the glassed-in porch you can see the early 1800s, three-tiered bank barn. You can watch the horses from the windowed alcove while you eat breakfast or admire the sweepinglawn down to the Brandy-wine River as you unwind in the hot tub on the outdoor deck.
