One mile south of Doylestown is a white stucco-and-fieldstone 1730 Quaker farm-house that has been carefully restored by innkeepers Joy and Ron Feigles. Joy jokes that she majored in hotel administration “and then 29 years later we bought an inn.” The interior is white, light, and airy, and it’s decorated with American Colonial antiques and reproductions. A solarium overlooks the swimming pool and 16 acres of pine trees. The bedrooms have stenciling, Oriental rugs, marble fireplaces, writing desks, four-poster beds, iron beds, and in the Pink Room, a canopied white twig bed that’s a masterpiece. Stuffed toy lambs are perched on each bed; the deep window seats have mounds of pillows to curl up into while you admire the view. The Feigles, lifelong residents of Doylestown, have plenty of suggestions if you should want to explore nearby villages or shop for antiques.
