Perched on a residential corner of Lancaster is a Spanish Mission Revival house, built in 1913, that’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Hosts Jim and Karen Owens opened their bed-and-breakfast in 1987. He’s an engineering consultant and she’s a former educator. The interior is a successful blend of many different architectural styles: The living room has an Art Deco fireplace, the elegantlibraryis Georgian-influenced, the bright and cheerful Florida Room has rattan furniture and ceiling fans, and the dining room has a crystal chandelier and fine Chippendale reproductions. The guest rooms are furnished in 18th-century reproductions with some antiques. Inside antique wardrobes, you’ll find fluffy terry-cloth robes. The Princess Room has three walls of win-dows and a private balcony that over-looks the water garden. Karen and Jim will be glad to make arrangements for you to have dinner with an Amish family. The Honeymoon Cottage out back has a fireplace and a whirlpool bath.
