The food is the star here. Owners Bernard and Jean Campagne operate the successful La Bergerie Restaurant in Alexandria and may be seen around the inn on weekends. Chefs Richard and Lynn Mahan’s eclectic menu features Mediterranean and Asian favorites, including lamb chops with chanterelle mashed potatoes and red wine sauce, as well as a series of delicious seasonal desserts; in the fall, expect dark chocolate and hazelnut mousse cake; in the summer, key lime cake with fresh strawberry sauce.
