Roma and John take a tag-team approach to serving and mingling with guests during breakfast, which usually consists of eggs cooked to order and muffins. Roma, an avid equestrian, left advertising for innkeeping. John, once a House Ways and Means Committee staffer and speechwriter, now tends the garden, where he grows seasonal herbs and vegetables for the restaurant. Be-tween stints as the inn’s maître d’ he even hunts some of the fowl used in the restaurant’s potpies.
