Another dependency, the summer kitchen, circa 1760s, separated from the main house by a shaded brick walkway decked out with an American boxwood hedge, features a two-story suite with a claw-foot tub and shower in the sunny bathroom upstairs. Here, as in any of the other spacious rooms, visitors can revel in the immense solitude the estate affords or contemplate the nearby attractions, a list of which the hosts provide at check-in. Located far beyond the reach of city lights and sounds, the inn has awide back porch for those who want to savor the dusk, and brick paths for others who want to take the property’s name at face value and wander off to enjoy the pristine view of the constellations.
