Cheap Bed and Breakfast in Virginia: War Hill Inn, Williamsburg

The War Hifi Inn is 3 miles north of town; this is a drawback or an attraction, depending on whether visitors prefer to stay overnight in the thick of Colonial things or put some space between their lodging and the crowds. Adding to the inn’s feeling of remoteness are the surrounding pastures, where owner Bill Lee’s prizewinning Black Angus cows munch on the grass. Bill is a retired veterinarian who built the house in 1968 to raise a family along with his wife, Shirley. Together with son Will, they run the place and keep it in excellent condition.
