Most of the guests at this inn overlooking the Tygart River Valley have been here before. “Regulars” have fallen in love with this Queen Anne Victorian, just as Loretta Murray and Dean Ahern did while honeymooning in the area in 1987. The couple gave up their careers
and moved from Philadelphia to under-take the meticulous restoration of the house, showcasing original oak wood-work, ornate windows, arched pocket doors, a winding staircase, and a three-story turret.
Guest rooms are decorated in different styles, from the Art Deco—style Water-fall Room with its veneer furniture to the brass bed and ice-cream-parlor table of the dormered Corrine’s Room. The antiques-filled and formal parlor is a quiet place to read, but the recreation room with its bumper pool table, TV, and other games sees the most use.
